The idea that humans will have microchips has been suggested for many of years and has also been implemented in some parts of the world, but did we ever really imagine it would become a reality?

Microchipping is apparently safe and secure? One man in the above video, claims it has been used for over 30 years in domestic animals, and can even help us to unlock doors! Whilst this technology is making it’s way around the world, shouldn’t we question if it’s actually going to be helpful to us? Do the potential hazards outweigh the positives?

Microchipping in the Bible?

Revelation 13:16-17

Written by the Apostle, John, the book of Revelation is known for it’s wisdom on what’s to come. You will often find it’s scripture referred to when discussing the “signs of the times” or the end of the world.

“marked on the right hand or forehead, so that no one can buy or sell unless he has the mark”

When thinking about the process of Microchipping and what it can be used for, it is easy to see the similarities between where we are today, and what the scripture says. Obviously the interpretation of scripture will always be scrutinised, but we are pretty sure a skeptic would find it hard to ignore how blatantly obvious this verse is!

So what is our personal opinion?

First lets start with this, we do NOT agree with microchipping humans. The very reason we microchip animals is to monitor their movements. We do not see how this technology can be deemed as “safe and secure” and if microchipping is introduced into everyday civilisation, it’s likely we will see an increase in identity and data theft.

That said we are digitally minded at Think Bigger. We actively utilise the internet to spread a Gospel perspective online, but we equally practice an understanding that everything has to have balance.

It is easy to become engrossed in the ways of the world, find identity in ‘likes’ on Facebook, and idolise internet celebrities! The most damaging part is when this takes over from your relationship with God. If the physical world around you gets forgotten because you are inside your phone more than you are your physical existence, then you have lost what God intended for you.

What does this ultimately mean for Humanity?

  • Always seek wisdom and ask God for guidance on how to remain in the world, whilst remaining separate from it’s ways.
  • Remember that, just because the media says something, doesn’t mean we should just accept it, we must remain aware and always know that we are right with God in our decision making and our thought processes.
  • Do not take lightly these ‘innocent’ ideas and new introductions to society;

33 “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

-Matthew 6:33 (KJV)
