“Empowered by Easter”

Rachel Francis-Nweke’s Songs of Freedom Are Just What the Doctor Ordered This Easter.

‘Empowered By Easter’ is the new contemporary-gospel, 6 track EP, from music ministry, EmpoweredByOne.

Featuring vocalist Rachel Francis-Nweke and released on March 2nd, 2018, the EP consists of four original songs and two revamped hymns, which collectively encourage the listener to;

“..live in the freedom and love that Christ sacrificed His life to give us.”

Dr. Warren King, the man behind the ‘EmpoweredBy’ movement, enlisted talented vocalist and friend, Rachel Francis-Nweke, to collaborate on the project, of which he says,

“Easter is more than just chocolate eggs and bunnies, it’s about living in freedom! Christ dying and leaving the earth means that we can live in love. He gave the ultimate sacrifice, there is no greater love.”

The EP’s message of freedom is reflected lyrically but also musically. The decision to include contemporary dance, gospel styles and old classic hymns was deliberate – to express no limitations by labels or genres but freedom to create sounds that capture the spirit of the message of each song.

The lead track, “Giver of Life”, is a stripped back, emotionally charged and contemporary song, co-written by Warren, Rachel, and award-winning producer Goz-I-Am (Emeli Sandé, Israel Houghton, YolanDa Brown).

Warren said,

“’Giver of Life’ explains everything that this EP means to us. It starts off by calling His name Sovereign Redeemer. It’s about how he restores us, comforts us when we’re broken, and gives us everything we need to live free in Him.”

“This EP will give people the freedom to live for real. To do life for real. Not just the traditional or legalistic Christian expression but authentic faith in this modern age. We need to fully embrace the freedom we have in Christ. Church is the one place you shouldn’t have to fake to fit in!” added Warren.
