People all around the world have been anticipating today’s Apple Special Event.
We watched the Keynote, mainly excited for the information regarding the new Apple iPhone.
However, it was something else which caught our attention and now, has us excited for the coming weeks.
The new game which is coming to Apple.
Said game, has been created by Thatgamecompany. It’s name is ‘Sky’.
What captured us, was the story of this game. CEO of Thatgamecompany, Jenova Chen described it as a;
“romantic, social adventure game. You play as the children of light, with a goal of bringing light to where it is needed the most.“
He also said that the main theme of the game is based on light and dark and that;
“compassion and generosity are key to unveil hidden areas of the world, as well as growing your character.”
My mind was blown.
I felt like Jesus was speaking to the whole world, through the television screen.
WE ARE CHILDREN OF THE LIGHT!
“You are all children of the light and children of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness.”
1 Thessalonians 5:5 (NIV)
AND WE ARE CALLED TO BE COMPASSIONATE AND GENEROUS!
“Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.”
Ephesians 4:32 (ESV)
“As for the rich in this present age, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy. They are to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share, thus storing up treasure for themselves as a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is truly life.”
1 Timothy 6:17-19
Aren’t both of these found amongst the Fruits of the Spirit?!; love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
As well as building your character through gameplay, we should practice these things and build our character in real life.
Jesus just spoke to me and millions around the whole world, through Apple’s September Special Event;
I hope and pray, you didn’t miss it.
